The Kolorseal team recently took part in a fully accredited NorWest Medical life saving and CPR training course at the company’s HQ in Huddersfield.
Every participant has earned practical experience in all aspects of BLS according to the Qualsafe accreditation and #Kolorseal now has an on-site defibrillator to hand, should an emergency occur.
CPR training was given as well as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) instruction. For managing director Deborah Hendry, understanding how to recognise cardiac arrest symptoms is vital and how to give someone a good chance of survival something all companies should consider whatever their size. Other crucial life saving skills including how to treat someone who is choking, as well as recovery and handling catastrophic bleeding were also taught.
Deborah Hendry comments,
“No matter what size of business you operate, it is important to protect staff and visitors. Providing fully accredited first aid training not only ensures a safe and productive work environment, but it also ensures we can help anyone who may be visiting should an emergency occur.”
As well as the most obvious life saving benefits gained by the Kolorseal team this BLS course also demonstrates a commitment to everyone working at the company.
The course complied with the OSHA requirements and brings a renewed focus on safety across all Kolorseal departments.
Deborah continues, “I want the whole team to feel secure in the knowledge that should an incident occur they stand the best chance of survival. It is so important for everyone here to understand about our commitment to their safety and well being.
Garry Pamment from NorWest Medical commented,” This was an excellent group all obtaining a top level pass in both the practical and academic tests. It was refreshing to teach 5 candidates who fully understand the importance of rapid intervention during a medical emergency.”
Deborah concluded: “It means we can look after all staff in the business as well as anyone who visits, if needed. The on-site defibrillator could be imperative during a cardiac emergency and these skills are transferable to life beyond working at Kolorseal. Congratulations to everyone who passed the course with flying colours.”
